Hi, my name is Bonnie. My husband Doss and I started this blog at the beginning of 2011. It is all about finding inspiration, beauty, and life in the South.

Our everyday conversations tend to be focused on ideas we’ve thought of, amazing things we’ve seen or heard, and, most recently, starting a family. So, with all the information that we throw up in the air, the best way to keep track of it and possibly inspire someone else was to start Southern Sprout.

Most of my career has been spent at a lifestyle magazine where I am the Art Director. I love my job; it allows me to see and experience, hands-on, the amazing features of the South. In my spare time, I am a magazine-flipping fanatic. Looking through a glossy magazine never bores me. I love to decorate. Making my home a reflection of things I really love. Cooking-up an interesting dish with whatever I have in my pantry or fridge at the current moment is my specialty (though my husband might disagree).

Doss is a Software Engineer and my tech guru with a great creative eye. He focuses on many aspects and categories of design. He builds furniture (of his own design of course) in his spare time, takes thousands of pictures of everything, and attempts to fix just about anything. He is also willing to discuss an entire gamut of subjects which he may or may not be an expert on.

It is great to share a life with someone who is so similar but, at the same time, carries a different point of view. Together we make a great team … no Charles and Ray, but we aspire to be.

I can’t leave out my pets: my dog, Clyde, and my cat, Wiley Cat. I’m very lucky to spend my life with those two amazing souls.
